Rolling Out New Topic: Intervention for Acts of Bias & Discrimination
Ever wonder what connects us beyond our differences? Come find out at Stand for States’ All That WE ARE event. This event is inspired by Denmark’s viral video, “All that we Share” and will be held at Penn State campuses across the state, uniting the entire Penn State community.
Participating in this activity builds empathy and connection as participants respond to a variety of questions that highlight common human experiences. Empathy and connection have been found to key pieces in prompting people to intervene in concerning situations. Following the event, a short video similar to the one above will be created highlighting all the campuses that participate and will be distributed through social media and other marketing channels. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to participate in the event.
The event will be held on Monday, January 22nd from 6:00 – 8:30 pm in Schwab Auditorium and is made possible by the support of the LGBTQA Center and the Paul Robeson Cultural Center. As this event will be recorded we ask all participants to refrain from wearing clothing with logos, prominent branding, bright colors or bold patterns.
